Terms of sale and use

These terms cover buying quiz packs from The Quiz Box and using this website. They're written to be read. If anything's unclear, get in touch and we'll explain.

1. Who we are

The Quiz Box (thequizbox.co.uk). "We" and "us" in these terms means The Quiz Box.

2. What we sell

We sell digital quiz packs: PDF files you download, such as a host pack with the questions and answers, team answer sheets and picture rounds. Each pack page lists exactly what's included. We also sell bundles, where you choose a set number of packs for one price.

Nothing is posted to you. The free quizzes on this website are separate and cost nothing.

3. Prices and payment

• Prices are in pounds sterling and are the full price you pay. We don't charge VAT or add delivery or booking fees. Single packs start at £4.99.
• Payment is taken by Stripe at checkout. We never see or store your card details.
• If we show a price by mistake that's obviously wrong, we'll contact you before your download and you can choose to pay the correct price or have a full refund.

4. Your order

Your contract with us starts when your payment goes through and we show your order confirmation. We also email the confirmation, which is your receipt. Please check it's right and keep it.

5. Downloads

• Your files are available to download straight after payment, on screen and by email.
• The download link in your email works for 30 days. After that, you can download your packs again from Your quizzes by signing in with the email address you paid with.
• You need a device that can open PDF files. Most phones, tablets and computers can.

6. Cancelling

Normally you can cancel an online order within 14 days. For digital downloads, that right ends once the download starts, if you asked for it to start straight away and acknowledged you'd lose the right to cancel.

When you buy from us, pressing the button to go to payment is that request: the page tells you your download starts as soon as you've paid and the 14-day cancellation period won't apply, and your order confirmation records it. So once you've paid, you can't cancel just because you've changed your mind.

This doesn't affect your rights if something's wrong with a pack. See the next section.

7. If something's wrong

Our packs must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. If a file is faulty (for example it won't open, pages are missing, or it isn't what the pack page described), tell us and we'll fix it or send a replacement. If we can't do that within a reasonable time, or without significant inconvenience to you, you're entitled to a refund or a price reduction. These are your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

We fact-check every question. If you think an answer is wrong, tell us: we'll check it and correct the pack, and everyone who bought it gets the updated file through Your quizzes.

8. Your licence

When you buy a pack you get a licence to use it. You don't buy the copyright, which stays with us. Each pack page says which licence it comes with.

Personal use

For quizzes with your family and friends, at home or at a private event where nobody pays to take part. You can print as many copies as you need for that quiz.

Venue licence

For quizzes run by you or your business or organisation at a pub, club, workplace, charity or other event, including events people pay to enter. The pack page says what the licence covers (for example, one venue and one quiz night). Using a pack again, or at more venues, needs another licence.

What no licence allows

• Sharing, reselling, giving away or uploading the files, or the questions in them, for anyone else to use.
• Publishing the questions online, in apps, on social media or in anything you sell.
• Using a personal-use pack for a paid-entry or commercial quiz.

If you break these rules, your licence ends and we may ask you to delete the files.

9. Free quizzes and the website

You're welcome to play our free quizzes and use them for quizzes with family and friends. Please don't copy them onto other websites, apps or publications, or use them for commercial or paid-entry quizzes: buy a pack with a venue licence instead. You can link to any page on this site.

We try to keep the website available and accurate, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free.

10. Our responsibility to you

We're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that's a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or not using reasonable care and skill. We're not responsible for loss or damage that wasn't foreseeable.

If our digital content damages a device or other digital content of yours because we didn't use reasonable care and skill, we'll either repair the damage or pay you compensation.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law says it can't be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for your statutory rights as a consumer.

If you're buying for a business (for example, a pub buying a venue-licensed pack), our total liability to you for any order is limited to the price you paid for it, and we're not liable for loss of profit, business or revenue.

11. Your account and emails

You don't need an account to buy. Your quizzes uses sign-in links sent to your email address, so please keep access to your email secure. How we use your details is explained in our privacy policy.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the law changes or we add new products. The terms that apply to an order are the ones on this page when you placed it.

13. Complaints and the law

If you're unhappy with anything, contact us and we'll try to put it right quickly.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts where you live.
