The Halloween quiz has arrived!

For a night in with friends and family

Games night, sorted.

A quiz is the easiest games night there is: everyone can play, it works for four people or forty, and nobody has to learn the rules. Download a ready-made quiz, or put it on the TV and let everyone answer on their phones.

Two ways to run it

Print it or read it

Download the PDFs

A host pack with every question and answer, team answer sheets and, in many packs, a picture round. Download straight away, read from your phone or tablet, or print what you need. Nothing is posted.

Interactive

Host it online

Put the quiz on a TV or projector. Everyone joins on their phone with a QR code, answers against the clock, and the leaderboard does the scoring. No app, no clickers, no marking. Packs include 30 days of online hosting, or host whenever you like with Quiz Box Unlimited.

A games night plan that works

Aim for about an hour and a half, with food and drinks in the middle. A good running order:

  1. Pick teams and names. Two to four teams is ideal. A silly team name gets everyone in the mood (we've got hundreds of ideas).
  2. Warm-up round. Ten easy general knowledge questions so everyone gets off the mark.
  3. Pick-your-topic rounds. Music, film and TV, sport, a decade you all grew up in. Let each team choose one.
  4. Break for food. Keep the leaderboard up so the chat carries on.
  5. Picture or emoji round. Great for mixed ages and for anyone who doesn't do trivia.
  6. The final round. Harder questions, double points, and a tie-breaker ready in case it's close.

Play it on the TV

Hosting online turns a quiz into a proper game show. Questions appear on the big screen, everyone answers on their phone against the clock, and the fastest right answers score the most. The leaderboard pops up after every round, so there's no marking and no arguments about handwriting.

Prefer it old-school? Every pack is also a set of PDFs, so you can read the questions out and hand round the answer sheets.

Not sure where to start?

Try one of our free quizzes first. They're the lite versions of our packs: questions and answers to read out or play on your phone, and you can host them live too with any pack or with Unlimited.

Questions

How do we play on the TV?

Open the host screen on a laptop plugged into your TV (or cast it). Everyone scans the QR code with their phone, picks a name, and answers on their phone while the questions show on the big screen.

How many people can play?

Up to 100 phones can join one game. Play as individuals, or split into teams with one phone each.

Do we need to sign up?

The host needs a pack or Unlimited. Players just give an email and a name when they join. There is no app to download.

What if we'd rather use pen and paper?

Every pack is also a set of PDFs: read the questions from the host pack and hand out the answer sheets. No screens needed.

Is it OK for children?

Yes. The Family Quiz has a question for the grown-ups and one for the kids on each topic, and our free kids quiz is a good warm-up. Children should join on a parent’s phone.
